Hosting can be a lot of work, but a beverage tub is a great party trick for keeping guests hydrated and happy. Though we love quality coolers for hot days, they can feel too casual indoors. Our usual ice buckets are just too small for bigger groups, and no one wants to refill ice and swap out bottles every 30 minutes. The best beverage tubs add a stylish touch to your party decor while providing guests with all the necessary refreshments.

Wherever your skills lie on the hosting spectrum, you'll find the best beverage tub for your entertaining needs on this list. Whether it is a simple stainless steel tub or a sleek silver double-decker model that can double as an oyster tower, your next gathering will be super chill.

The Williams Sonoma Final Touch Beverage Bin is beautiful and versatile, with a durable double-walled stainless steel construction, and is suitable for indoor and outdoor gatherings. The Oggi Stainless Steel Double Wall Party Tub, another favorite, is more modern and compact. Still, it’s a great value option and also boasts superior insulation.

The tub has excellent insulation and shows no exterior condensation.

It is prone to visible fingerprints and smudges.

The Final Touch Stainless Steel Insulated Beverage Bin resembles an extra-wide Champagne bucket. Still, it has the added benefit of insulated double walls that both hold in cold and prevent condensation. You'll never need to worry about leaving rings behind on your dining room table or hardwood floors. It can comfortably hold around eight bottles of wine cold for up to six hours, enough for just about any gathering. The inner bowl is leak-proof and made from a single metal sheet. You can use it as a punch bowl, wipe, and rinse the easy-to-clean stainless steel surface.

The double-walled stainless steel design delivers excellent insulation, keeping drinks cold for hours, even in high outdoor temperatures. During indoor testing, ice lasted six hours before noticeably melting, and even after eight hours, some ice remained. There was no condensation on the exterior. While the finish is prone to smudging, the bin looks sleek and works with various design aesthetics. It would be a perfect wedding or housewarming gift for anyone with fancy taste.

This is affordable, attractive, and ideal for smaller gatherings.

There is no drainage hole on the tub, so it must be lifted to empty.

The Oggi Stainless Steel Double Wall Party Tub offers a good balance of form, function, and affordability. It comfortably fits four wine bottles or about 10 pounds of ice, making it well-suited for small gatherings or as a secondary wine tub at a larger event. Its compact size and sleek appearance allow it to work nicely on counters or tables without dominating the space. Constructed from double-walled stainless steel, the Oggieff shows no exterior condensation. It pairs well with other stainless steel pieces and feels durable despite its lightweight construction.

The lack of a drain means you'll need to lift and dump water after use, which isn’t bad because it is reasonably sized. The tub’s price point and lightweight design compensate for the inconvenience. It’s functional, modern, and simple, making it a solid choice for any entertainer. This stunning drinks bucket adds class to any occasion, especially if you fill it with Champagne. It has sound insulation that can keep up to a dozen wine bottles chilled for hours during an indoor or outdoor party.

Dimensions: 11 x 6 inches | Material: Stainless steel

This classic beverage tub has outstanding insulation and a large capacity.

It may be too bulky for some tabletop use or small-scale entertaining.

The Frontgate Optima Beverage Tub is ideal for serious entertainers thanks to its extra-large capacity and high-end construction. Made from double-walled stainless steel, it’s offered in multiple finishes, including hammered and smooth stainless steel with optional gold trim, giving it aesthetic versatility. The wide opening makes it easy to layer ice and drinks, while the sturdy handles help carry it, even when full.

Our tests showed the tub keeps ice frozen for over 24 hours and is condensation-free. It easily holds around 11 bottles of wine or several dozen cans, with room for two 14-pound bags of ice. It’s too large and heavy to be practical for small parties or tabletops, but great for large parties. Whether you’re hosting indoors or out, this tub is built to perform.

Dimensions: 20.5 x 11.75 inches | Capacity: 30 quarts | Material: Stainless steel

Its eye-catching design with a natural wood and metal blend.

The slimmer base may tip if not positioned carefully.

The Crate & Barrel Carson Ash Wood Beverage Tub combines form and function in one of the most attractive beverage tubs. It holds seven wine bottles and about 14 pounds of ice, plenty for a decent-sized gathering. The galvanized iron and steel interior is encased in a removable, hand-finished ash wood exterior that’s elegantly sourced. Despite not being double-walled, this beverage tub insulates surprisingly well. It takes roughly 12 hours to melt indoors, with no condensation forming between the liner and the wooden shell.

While we wish the lifting rings had more robust handles, you can remove the liner easily to refill or dump water. The beverage tub's shape is long and narrow with a slimmer base, so we recommend placing it near a wall to prevent accidental tipping. Given its materials and craftsmanship, the tub feels appropriately priced. It’s a beautiful, versatile piece that blends utility with style.

Dimensions: 25 x 12 x 9 inches | Capacity: 27 quarts | Material: Stainless steel

The tub has massive capacity and is perfect for big events.

There is no drain hole, so emptying requires lifting, which can be inconvenient.

The Frontgate Arctic Chill Beverage Tub is the ultimate beverage station for large-scale entertaining. With the ability to hold up to 48 glass bottles or over 30 pounds of ice, this tub makes a bold and practical statement at any event. Crafted from double-walled stainless steel, the tub is rust-proof and sweat-proof. It kept ice cold for several hours without exterior condensation. I love the included condiment holder for garnishes or extras.

The tub holds 48 standard cans, but you can get the smaller one and assemble one enormous beverage station. The stainless steel pieces are all insulated and won't leave water rings. While the lack of a drainage hole is a hassle, its thoughtful design and features make it a luxury tub that’s built to last.. The heavy-duty built-in handles aid in carrying when full or assist in emptying at the end of the event.

Dimensions: 35.25 x 20 x 6.5 inches | Capacity: TK | Material: Stainless steel

It’s compact, elegant, and impressively insulated.

The handles on the tub could feel sturdier.

The BREKX Hammered Stainless-Steel Beverage Tub offers premium insulation in a compact, countertop-friendly size. Its 9-liter capacity can hold four wine bottles or eight to nine beers with about five pounds of ice. This is an excellent option for intimate gatherings or chilling a smaller selection of drinks separately from the primary stash.

The tub is attractive, durable, and polished, hammered stainless steel. The double-wall insulation performs exceptionally well, with ice starting to melt only after 12 hours and still lasting up to 24. It also protects tabletops and sideboards from sweat and drips, living up to its no-condensation claim. While the handles don’t match the polish of the tub itself, they’re functional. The tub is a smart buy for anyone needing a smaller, stylish beverage tub with solid insulation.

Dimensions: 14.5 x 6.5 inches | Capacity: 15 quarts | Material: Stainless steel

Immense capacity with unmatched durability.

Too bulky and rustic for most indoor uses.

The YETI Tank 85 Bucket Cooler is built for volume and toughness. Designed to hold up to 111 cans or 100 pounds of ice, this tub can also accommodate 20 wine bottles, small kegs, seafood, or even party punch. It’s not made for indoor tabletops, but a beast outdoors. With military-grade rope handles and non-slip feet, it’s stable, easy to transport, and ready for any terrain. Constructed with pressurized polyurethane and air insulation, the YETI keeps ice frozen for extended periods without much condensation. It also has helpful features such as tie-down slots, making it ideal for boats, trucks, or uneven surfaces.

The military-grade polyester rope handles will not break no matter what you carry, and there's a convenient drain plug in the bottom for easy cleanup. A bonus of the Tank 85's polyurethane foam insulation is that it works as well with heat as it does with cold. It's an excellent serving tool for crawfish boils, clam bakes, fish fries, and more. If durability and volume are your priorities, this is ideal for hosts entertaining big or often.

Dimensions: 25.2 x 19.4 inches | Capacity: 80 quarts | Materials: Plastic, polyurethane foam

Beverage tubs come in all different sizes, with enough room to hold anywhere from just a handful to more than 100 cans or bottles. To keep room for a generous amount of ice that can keep things cold for hours, you need about 2 quarts of capacity per bottle of wine, or about 1.5 quarts per can of beer or soda. In other words, a 5-gallon tub can hold 10 wine bottles or 14 cans. That's an excellent size for a small party, though there are beverage tubs that are much, much bigger. Remember that the more capacity a tub has, the more space it will take up on a table or counter.

Stainless steel is a popular option for beverage tubs because it is highly durable and can retain cold better than other materials. Aluminum is another metal option that efficiently transfers heat (and cold), but it's lighter, cheaper, and not quite as durable as steel. There are also plastic tubs and even durable fabrics like rattan. Each material has its pros and cons regarding durability, temperature control, and style; it's mostly a matter of personal taste. Also consider extra features, like handles ro easier maneuvering or stands to lift them to hip-height.

Some beverage tubs are insulated to keep drinks cold for longer than with a single material layer. Many insulated metal tubs have two separate layers of material, similar to an insulated water bottle. That has the added benefit of preventing condensation from forming on the outer metal layer and leaving rungs or spots on tables. There are also plastic tubs that work like a standard insulated cooler, with insulating foam between the inner and outer layers.

We incorporated the beverage tubs into everyday kitchen and entertaining routines during testing. Each tub was used at least once in a real-world setting to assess performance, durability, and overall ease of use. We began by filling each tub with ice, noting how well the tub retained cold and how long it took for the ice to melt entirely. This helped us evaluate insulation and the tub's effectiveness at chilling beverages.

We repeated the test with ice and beverages to simulate a typical party, allowing us to assess each tub’s capacity and performance under real conditions. We carried each tub empty and whole to evaluate the comfort and strength of the handles and check for any flexing, strain, or structural weaknesses. We cleaned each tub according to the manufacturer’s instructions, paying attention to how easily it could be rinsed, wiped down, and dried. Hard-to-reach areas or those without drain holes ranked lower.

Crate & Barrel Bash Silver Beverage Tub, ($120 at Crate & Barrel)

The handles on the side make this easy to move, and it's pretty light when empty, which is also helpful when dumping ice/water when you're through. It also reflects light beautifully, so grabbing a drink is inviting. It doesn't have any real insulation properties, and ice inevitably melts during your party, but you sort of forgo that when you opt for a more design-forward tub like this one.

Pottery Barn Tava Handwoven Rattan Party Bucket, ($330 at Pottery Barn)

The Tava Handwoven Rattan Party Bucket brings a bit of natural fiber and an organic look to your next gathering. The beautifully crafted basket hides a leak-proof aluminum tub, has carrying handles, and adds solid insulation to keep drinks cold. The setup holds about four bottles of wine or a dozen cans on ice, but when it's not party time, you can also use the rattan basket and metal tub separately for any storage.

West Elm Streamline Outdoor Ice Buckets, ($170 at West Elm)

The look, design, and versatility are all great. Its stand is equally applicable inside the kitchen island or the backyard. The main problem is the lack of a lock for the stand, making it challenging to scoot/relocate while full. While it has handles, which I appreciate, the steel on the handles is skinny, so it is pretty painful to carry this when it's full or partially complete. Therefore, most people cannot move it while it is in use.

The right beverage tub depends on the intended space or event. If you have a lot of people coming and want to provide numerous options, you want to ensure adequate storage. However, standard-size tubs are sufficient for most get-togethers since you can serve a variety of bottles and cans in one.

Since you must move and clean the beverage tub, it must be easy to manage, regardless of your stature. So, a good handle is always appreciated. Since many beverage tubs don't have drainage holes, it's essential to check if that's important to you. It is since sometimes these are incredibly heavy, and emptying them without a drainage hole can be cumbersome.

Not all beverage tubs are suitable for outdoor or indoor use. Sometimes, materials can be damaged if caught in a rain downpour, so check the manufacturer's care instructions to ensure that your beverage tub is suitable for your outdoor soiree.
